Commercial lignosulphonates are a mixture of sodium-based lignosulfonic acid salts. They are formed in the process of pulp and paper production (sulphite pulp cooking). Lignosulphonates are low-toxic, do not have irritating and allergic effects, and belong to the lowest hazard class (4).

Lignosulphonates are widely demanded in the industry due to their high surface activity.

They are used in many industries:

- in production of construction materials (concrete, cement, dry building mixes) as binders and adhesives;

- in the oil industry as agents for regulating the mud parameters;

- in the chemical industry as stabilizers;

- in the metallurgy;

- in production of paints, varnishes, and pigments, etc.
